Call for Artists / Entries

By turning the transitional gallery space into temporary artist studios on the ground-level in an active arts neighborhood, we are hoping to allow for an atmosphere of engagement and conversation around the creative process. We will arrange for a relevant studio visit for the artist at the end of their studio term and the public will be invited to stop in throughout the duration of the residency to see the artist in progress. Each studio residency term will culminate in an evening with the artist that will coincide with the monthly Dumbo First Thursday event. The program is open to artists of all media practices and we encourage innovative and experimental project proposals. Below we have listed additional information on eligibility and submission instructions.

Dates of residencies: Jan 3 – Feb 4 (public event Feb 2); Feb 7 – Mar 3 (public event Mar 1); Mar 6 – Apr 7 (public event Apr 5)

Cost to applicants: While there are no explicit fees associated with participating in the studio program, artists will be responsible for covering all costs for materials, supplies, installation, transportation, and any production-related costs. The gallery will not cover any room & board expenses so non-NYC artists should be prepared to cover those expenses.

Eligibility: The Transparent Studio program is open to emerging and mid-career individual artists and established collaborations of four or fewer artists. Artists who have not been included in a previous Bose Pacia exhibition will be given preference.

Deadline: Only submissions received by November 15 will be considered. Selected artists will be announced in December, 2011.

Application fee: none

Selection criteria: Artists will be selected based on the merit of their past work, career record, and the projected value of their proposed project for the residency period and beyond. Bose Pacia has been dedicated to supporting unconventional artists and ideas and we encourage artists of all media to apply.

Submission instructions: Interested artists should email all required materials to bosepacia.studio@gmail.com. Please do not send any materials directly to the gallery. The following items are required for a submission to be considered:
